4 layer Bamboo Charcoal Microfibre inserts (Just to avoid any confusion, this means that the Charcoal is made from Bamboo, the fabric is not bamboo) The outside layers are Bamboo-Charcoal Poly fleece and the inside is Bamboo-Charcoal Microfibre)
Research sh/ows that fabric containing bamboo charcoal has improved anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, & de-odorizing properties. (Which is why Butternut baby choose to use it for our nappy lining too!)
Note - This fabric is made without the usual Harsh chemicals, dyes & bleaches of most fabrics, as the chemicals would reduce the benefits of the fabric. (which is also why it is this colour)
This fabric is considered environmentally friendly because Bamboo is a fast growing, renewable source and because of its manufacturing process (less harmful chemicals etc as above) and because the benefits come directly from the bamboo charcoal unlike other de-odorizing and antibacterial fabrics which relay on chemicals.
